CU on the Weekend
During the University of Colorado-Boulder’s “CU on the Weekend” March 8th, noted neuroscience researcher Dr. Theresa Hernandez will be discussing how Complementary and Alternative Medicine can be used to treat neurological disorders like stroke and traumatic brain injury.
Mindfulness and Neuroscience: Befriending the Mind
Our very own Dr. Amishi Jha will be hosting a fascinating workshop on the power of mindfulness meditation, right here in Boulder, CO!
Evening Talk, Friday, February 21, 7pm: Join respected brain researcher Dr. Amishi Jha for a fascinating exploration of findings from cutting-edge neuroscience on the profound and positive effects of mindfulness practices on the brain, psychological health, wellness and resilience. These practices are finding broad application in corporate, medical, educational and military settings.
Workshop with Dr. Amishi Jha and Jane Carpenter, February 22, 10am-2pm: This dynamic workshop weaves current scientific research on mindfulness with experiential practice and rich interactive discussion. We’ll discuss brain imaging techniques that reveal how meditation may alter foundational brain networks and engage in simple meditative practices that introduce us first-hand to the power of attention and mindfulness. By gently resting and expanding our awareness in the present moment, we can infuse our lives, relationships and work with greater clarity and wellness. All are welcome.
