Join Our Team

One great way to get involved in the neuroscience community, especially for young girls, such as yourself, is to join an organization. Right now, The Synapse project is looking for incoming Freshmen to Seniors in high school that are passionate about neuroscience/psychology and looking for a place to harvest their curiosities.

Team Member Possible Positions:

1. Writer: As a writer, you will help to contribute and create different works. This includes new subjects (e.g. action potentials), new articles (e.g. an interview), or just basic posts about events, news, and more. The sky’s the limit to what you can create, so long as you are committed and passionate!

2. Artist: As an artist, you will help to create artwork for the writer’s articles, posts, and subjects and contribute to web design, graphic design, etc. You can even create a new subject with just art (e.g. my sketchnotes on neuroantatomy)!

3. Editor: In the editor positions, one is to look over and edit, revise, and give feedback to the writer’s articles/posts/subjects, and the artist’s work. Your role is vital in making sure the work is valid (meaning there are no inconsistencies, it is accurate, etc.) and is good to go for publishing/posting.

The time commitment is pretty flexible in each of these positions, however, it should not be less than 1.5 hours per week.

Let me know if you have any questions/concerns about these positions!
